Darius Files Petitions First

Democratic Congressional Candidate Darius Shahinfar Submits Petitions

Albany, N.Y – Today, Darius Shahinfar, Democratic candidate for New York's 21st Congressional District, announced that his campaign has filed the signatures required by the New York State Board of Elections to be placed on the ballot for the September 9th Democratic Primary.

"We are facing sky-high fuel costs, out of control government borrowing and spending, an economy teetering on recession and a war with no end in sight. As I have gone door-to-door over the past several weeks, New York's working families, seniors and veterans have told me they are looking for leadership to help renew America's promise and get our country back on track. I am pleased to announce that I have collected more than enough signatures from voters in all seven counties to be placed on the ballot this September and bring that leadership to Washington," said Darius.

As the first of the Democratic congressional candidates to file, Darius submitted more than 2,350 signatures to the New York State Board of Elections, almost twice the requirement for a congressional candidate.
